BOF: 2nd Annual New Works Festival

Had I not been such a lazy cabron, perhaps my play in process about the revolutionary chingona Hilda Gadea would have been apart of this weekend’s New Works Festival at Breath of Fire Theater in Santa Ana. Luckily, other new writers paid better mind to deadlines than I did and will have their new works featured (hence the title) On the real people, Breath of Fire at this point in time needs your support more than ever, so please consider making this festival part of your plans. Look, Joel Beers of the OC Weekly even wrote about it:

“Seven new works by unknown, emerging and established writers who happen to have Spanish-sounding names will be presented this weekend as part of the Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble’s 2nd Annual New Works Festival. Writers from across the country submitted work, and these are the ones the judges liked best. Just some of the highlights: homeless kids living in the shadow of Disneyland; a theater troupe led by a guy named “Crazy Mex”s; a teen-age boy with wings made of dirty feathers and trash; sisters wrestling with Catholic guilt (sound muy caliente!) and even a musical.”
