100th Anniversary: Argentina’s May Day Massacre of 1909

 

One of my favorite journalists, Marie Trigona, has a new article commemorating the 100th anniversary of the May Day massacre that took place in Argentina. In this latest piece for Zspace, she also expounds on the historical figure of Simon Radowitzky (pictured above) whose life was shaped by the wanton killings that occurred that day and took actions into his own hand. A journalist steeped in history, Trigona brings the labor history of Argentina’s past to the present as the South American country is feeling the effects of the global capitalist economic recession…
